My Trolley Mate Alexa Skill – Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to your use of the My Trolley Mate Alexa skill (“the Skill”), provided by MTM Concepts Ltd, trading as My Trolley Mate (“we”, “us” or “our”).
By enabling, linking or using the Skill, you agree to these Terms of Use.
1. About the Skill
The My Trolley Mate Alexa skill allows eligible My Trolley Mate users to interact with their My Trolley Mate shopping list using compatible Amazon Alexa devices and services.
Depending on the features available, you may use the Skill to:
add items to your My Trolley Mate Voice List;
remove items from your Voice List;
ask Alexa to read items from your Voice List; and
access other supported My Trolley Mate voice features that we may introduce.
Your Voice List synchronises with the My Trolley Mate mobile app so that supported changes made using Alexa can be available within the app.
2. Requirements
To use the Skill, you must have:
a compatible Alexa-enabled device or service;
an Amazon account;
a My Trolley Mate account;
the My Trolley Mate mobile app where required;
an active My Trolley Mate Premium subscription; and
a supported internet connection.
You must link your My Trolley Mate account with Alexa before using account-specific features of the Skill.
Use of Alexa and your Amazon account is also subject to Amazon's applicable terms and policies.
3. My Trolley Mate Premium
The Alexa skill is a My Trolley Mate Premium feature.
Premium subscriptions are purchased and managed through the platform through which they are offered, such as the Apple App Store or Google Play.
The Skill does not itself process subscription payments or purchases.
Subscription prices, renewal arrangements, cancellation rights and other applicable subscription information will be displayed through the relevant app store when you subscribe.
Cancelling or allowing your Premium subscription to expire may result in loss of access to the Skill's Premium functionality.
4. Account Linking
The Skill uses account linking to securely connect Alexa with your My Trolley Mate account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your My Trolley Mate, Amazon and associated authentication accounts.
You can unlink My Trolley Mate from Alexa through your Alexa settings.
Unlinking the Skill does not delete your My Trolley Mate account or automatically cancel your My Trolley Mate Premium subscription.
5. Shopping Lists and Voice Recognition
The Skill relies on Amazon Alexa to recognise and interpret your spoken requests.
Voice recognition technology is not always accurate. You should check your My Trolley Mate Voice List if it is important that an item has been added, removed or understood correctly.
We cannot guarantee that every spoken word, product name, brand name or combination of shopping-list items will be interpreted correctly.
You remain responsible for checking the accuracy and completeness of your shopping list.
6. Availability of the Skill
We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee that the Skill will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
Availability may be affected by circumstances outside our control, including internet connectivity and the availability or operation of services provided by Amazon, Apple, Google or other technology providers.
We may update, change, suspend or discontinue features of the Skill where reasonably necessary, including for security, technical, operational or legal reasons.
7. Acceptable Use
You must not:
attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Skill or its supporting services;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to another person's account or data;
misuse the Skill for unlawful or fraudulent purposes;
attempt to bypass subscription, authentication or security controls; or
reverse engineer or misuse the Skill except where applicable law expressly permits this.
We may restrict or suspend access where we reasonably believe the Skill is being misused or its security is at risk.
8. Privacy
Our use of personal information in connection with the Skill is explained in the My Trolley Mate Privacy Policy.
The Skill uses Amazon Alexa services to process voice interactions. Amazon's processing of information through Alexa is subject to Amazon's own applicable privacy policies and terms.
9. Intellectual Property
The My Trolley Mate name, branding, software and associated content are owned by or licensed to MTM Concepts Ltd and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms give you permission to use the Skill for your personal use. They do not transfer ownership of any intellectual property rights to you.
10. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control or by third-party services over which we have no control.
The Skill is intended to assist with creating and managing shopping lists. You should not rely on it for purposes where an incorrect, missing or delayed voice command could cause significant loss, harm or expense.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Skill, our services, applicable law or the third-party services on which the Skill relies.
The date at the top of this page shows when the Terms were last updated.
Where appropriate, significant changes may also be brought to users' attention through the My Trolley Mate website, app or other suitable means.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland.
If you are a consumer, you will also benefit from any mandatory protections provided by the laws applicable to you and nothing in these Terms affects those rights.
